Hi, everyone! My name is Kaylee and I am 19 years old! I just began college as a freshman at East Central University in Oklahoma. I’m very excited about this new step in my life and I’m looking forward to seeing all of the things God has planned for me! But, along with the excitement, I’m also a bit nervous for the many decisions that I am going to face. I’ve been here only a week and I have already been faced with many temptations and have been exposed to things that could easily take over my main focus.
I know many of you are facing dozens of temptations everyday just like I am and I’ll be the first to say I know its hard! As girls, we always feel like we need to fit in and be liked by the people around us. We get so caught up in our everyday lives that we forget the Almighty God that is constantly loving us ad watching over us. And even though I know its hard, I’ll also be the first to say that sticking with God and His word is ALWAYS worth the hard times. God loves you and I so much and He will always be there for us no matter what.
So, as all of us are starting school and facing new things daily, let’s not forget God’s love for us and the great reward we will someday receive if we continue to do His will. Many times its easy to lose focus and forget what our purpose is, but a verse that always helps me is 2 Corinthians 4:17-18. “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Remember to look to God for everything and remember that we’re living a life for something much bigger than what we see around us!
