Hey there! My name is Micaela Leann and I’m supposed to be writing an article over my life…well sorta. You see, my sister told me that she was going to make a website and asked me what I thought about it. I answered very positively and said that it was an awesome idea. Little did I know that she would ask me later on to write a blog about my life as a freshman in high school. I have been procrastinating about writing this. I didn’t really know what to write in something that hundreds of girls I don’t know would be reading. Then it hit me. Perfect opportunity to show my love for God to other people. So let me start over…
Hey there guys, my name is Micaela Leann and I am a Christian first and foremost. I have chosen to live for the one and only living God and I am not ashamed. I am a freshman in high school, fourteen years old, and scared out of my mind. I am about to start off my first year in high school with no Christian classmates to help me along the way. It is going to be a battle. I will get teased for not smoking pot or sneaking out to go to parties or even cussing. Actually I will get made fun of for being a Christian in general. But I will not let them waver my love or trust in God. I am not ashamed to call myself a Christian. Timothy said, “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” (Timothy 1:12).
There is something that I’m having a hard time accepting. That is that is that I will make mistakes. I want to be the best person, the best Christian I can be. I want to be a good example to my peers, friends, and to younger kids. And I will try. That’s the best that I can do and I understand that I will never be good enough to deserve Gods grace. That’s what makes it so amazing. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by GRACE you have been saved– and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his GRACE in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by GRACE you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:4-9).
It is still summer here in Oklahoma. School starts in less than a month and I am just enjoying my life this summer. I am truly blessed with great friends and an amazing family, which combine to make an awesome support system. I have had the opportunity to go to two great church camps and many other youth activities. I have made so many great new friends. Everytime I go to a youth event with the church I get so excited that i get to catch up with my friends whether new or old. There is no feeling like knowing that no matter where you are, what you’ve done, or what you’re going to do you still have people that love you and will stand by you through it all. I find it very comforting, I feel unstoppable, untouchable. I am proud to be a Christian.
